We were excited to photograph the Palmetto Senior Expo on Oct. 18. This event, held at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, featured 105 vendors all in one place and all for one purpose – to address the needs of our seniors. From medical to financial and insurance, as well as information on holistic healing, fitness, nutrition, local activities and classes, seniors who attended this event left with a wealth of knowledge. If you missed it, there will be another Palmetto Senior Expo on April 3, 2020. On to this spectacular senior edition. David Dykes, a talented local writer, covered scams. He interviewed a highly-qualified Frank Abagnale, the subject of the 2002 film “Catch Me If You Can.” He is now a cybersecu- rity expert and trusted advisor to the FBI. You don’t want to miss this informative article that could possibly save you or a loved one from a disastrous scam. We also covered articles on bone density and preventing falls with better balance. There’s a story on social isolation and how that can affect mental health. In addition, we delved into physical fitness in the golden years and how important it is to maintain your fitness past the age of 90 and beyond. And we wanted to talk about prediabetes.
