There isn’t anything easy about planning a final goodbye to a loved one. But when the inevitable comes, working with a funeral home owned and operated by people you trust – your friends – can make an upsetting situation much more comfortable.
Seawright Funeral Home & Crematory has roots in the Inman area that date back to 1925, when the business opened in downtown Inman as Seawright Furniture and Undertaking. Still family-owned and operated 96 years later, customers aren’t customers but rather family and lifelong friends.
Current Owner Robert Seawright said, “It is not rare for me to work with friends that I grew up with. I want them to know that it is an honor and a privilege to assist them with this final tribute to their loved one.”
As the funeral business changed along with everything else in the face of COVID-19, Seawright’s commitment to the community has remained steadfast. Smaller services have been planned and visitations have been canceled, and Seawright said he has noticed that no one embraces the grieving.
“Our business has definitely changed, but we want our customers to know that we are flexible and will work with them based on their comfort levels. We are open-minded and will adjust to the ever-changing landscape,” he said.
Seawright Funeral Home assists with all pre-planning of the viewing and visitation, the funeral service, graveside service, the option to witness the cremation, the post cremation committal service and memorial services as well. Seawright can accommodate all aspects of different beliefs and traditions.
He concluded, “I want to thank our community for all their support, friendship and love. It is because of them that we have been around for 96 years.”
