GateWay Counseling Center is located between Clinton and Laurens, South Carolina. GateWay Counseling Center began as the Laurens County Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse in 1980 by an ordinance from Laurens County Council as a result of the South Carolina Act 301 of 1973. The commission changed its working name to GateWay Counseling Center in 1996. As the sole county authority for alcohol and drug abuse services, GateWay Counseling Center is a quasi-governmental nonprofit agency that offers a variety of services related to the prevention, intervention and treatment of substance use disorders. Confidential services are provided by licensed, certified and trained staff.
