What is a Surgeon?

A surgeon is a doctor that performs operations and uses instrumental techniques to improve function, treat disease or injury, improve appearance or repair unwanted ruptured areas. Doctors, dentists and veterinarians perform surgery. Surgery is defined as technology consisting of a physical intervention on tissues. Surgery is when a patient’s tissues are cut or a previously sustained wound is closed. All forms of surgery are considered invasive. The only types of surgery that are noninvasive are laser ablation or radiosurgical procedures.
